You know that old saying - two birds, one stone? Well the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day lives up to that old adage, and then some!
This Saturday, April 30th you can do something really easy that has a big impact on our environment (Earth, H2O, Soil) and our local communities, AND it gets us a little more organized too! (Bonus!)
Do it now. It's really easy.
- Make a plan to clean out the medicine cabinet / closet and your Style Rx designer pill box case of expired or old medications and vitamins.
- Toss them in a bag.
- Find your local drop off site (find exactly where here) for Saturday
- Head there between 10am and 2pm and make sure these old medicines get taken out of circulation and are disposed of safely.

Saturday: Local, Safe Medication Disposal - Make a Date
It's that time of year again. Time to open up that medicine cabinet and clean out your Style Rx designer pill box case and round up those expired or old medications and vitamins and make a plan to safely dispose of them. On Saturday you can take them to your local pharmacy or police station (find exactly where here) and make sure these old medicines get taken out of circulation and are disposed of safely.

Normal + Hope = Community | National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Glimpses of normal are starting to become more frequent. We're emerging from the fog that seemed to define 2020. It's 2021, it's spring, over half of the U.S. population has received at least one dose of their Covid-19 vaccine...new signs of hope, and none too soon!
As many of us are eager to safely leave our homes for some long overdue social connection, and hopefully even travel again, there's still some simple ways we can keep focused on helping our community today.
One of those ways is the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
This important event - Saturday, April 24 (which lines up pretty closely with Earth Day this year) - helps ensure that we take old medications - prescription and over the counter ones - and safely dispose of them and help keep our community safe too by:
- Keeping medications out of our water supply
- Preventing misuse of medications
- Keeping medicines from contaminating our soil and food
It's simple...

Take Back Day Tomorrow | Keep Caring for Your Community
Okay, let's face it 2020 has thrown us a lot of curves. Some days nearly everything we do seems different. Don't forget the masks and the hand sanitizer before leaving the house...every time. Don't plan that large graduation party or backyard bbq you had been looking forward to hosting. Start serious holiday shopping in October?? Cancel Thanksgiving family gatherings. The list goes on and on.
Despite all the changes and our new normal, all of us are finding new ways to continue doing things that are important to us and to our community. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is one of those important things to keep doing...even during a global pandemic.
This important event helps ensure that we take old medications - prescription and over the counter ones - and safely dispose of them and help keep our community safe too by:
- Keeping medications out of our water supply
- Preventing misuse of medications
- Keeping medicines from contaminating our soil and food
So while we all have a lot on our plate these days, let's not skip doing this one. Clean up and declutter the medicines lying around for yourself, for your family and for your community. Because one day - hopefully in the not too distant - this pandemic will be behind us and life will return to more normal times, but we need to still take the actions now that support our community's safety and health for that tomorrow.

Early Gift Giving or Always Gift Giving?
The saying goes something like, "It is better to give, than to receive". Well one Inspired by Dawn shopper must be putting this sentiment into action. Today we sent off a beautiful bundle of Style Rx designer pill box cases - presumably for gift giving - to a customer in Florida.
Not sure if these are for celebrating birthdays or new pregnancies, for supporting a friend with a new diagnosis, "just because", or early holiday gift giving. No way to know for sure. Must Do for Saturday | Medication Drop Off
Ahh, Saturday...we anxiously await you all week long. A day when we can sleep in, break the routine, have a little more fun since it's not a "school night", and maybe even catch up on all those household and life To Dos that we are often forced to delay during the week.
If you're like most of us Saturday does often get full of those errands, grocery shopping and other running around. The fun gets delayed.
Don't get us wrong - we believe in fun. It's often the inspiration we need to recharge our batteries. But this Saturday we're going to suggest you add one more Must Do to your To Do List.
>>Gather up those old medications - prescription and over the counter ones - put them in a bag (or three! We won't judge!) and drop them off at your closest National Prescription Drug Take Back Day collection site.
It'll take you about 30 minutes in total between gathering up the medications and driving to the collection site, but it'll do so much good - including:
- Keeping these medications out of our water supply
- Keeping them from missuse
- Keeping them from contaminating our soil and food
So clean out those old, unused medications cluttering up your purse, medicine cabinets and even your Style Rx pill box cases, and plan to drop them off between the groomer and the grocery store on Saturday!

Girl Power (noun): Redefined
Girl Power. Those two words get thrown around a lot. Maybe even too much.
Yesterday the U.S. Women's Soccer Team won their fourth World Cup and second in a row. There are hardly words to express this impressive feat. These women bring passion and dedication to their sport. They work hard and never let up. As a result they dominated!
This team is one of the best examples of Girl Power. With them it's not an empty statement. It's a demonstration of what women can do when they work together to build each other up and work for a common goal.
So in honor of this impressive team and their achievement, let's honor them by encouraging others - women and men. Let's support each other and focus on the things we have in common, instead of the topics that divide us. Do something kind. Give the compliment. Spend the extra time with someone who will value it. Spring is in full swing. Earth Day was Monday. Now National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, April 27 from 10am to 2pm local time. Coincidence? We think not!

In Need of A Little Green? May We Suggest...
March is often associated with green. Mainly because of St. Patrick's Day - coming up on Sunday, March 17. But hopefully also because we'll start to get our first real glimpse of Spring - green grass, leaf buds, daffodil stems. Fingers crossed.
